General Therapy & Support

You don't need a specific label or diagnosis to benefit from therapy. Whatever is weighing on you, I'm here to listen.

A space for whatever you're carrying

Sometimes life feels overwhelming, confusing, or simply hard — and you can't quite put your finger on why. You don't need a diagnosis, a crisis, or a specific issue to seek support. Many people come to therapy simply because something doesn't feel right, and they want a safe space to explore it.

I offer open-ended, person-centred counselling for a wide range of concerns. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, low mood, stress at work, relationship difficulties, a major life change, or a general sense of being stuck — therapy can help.

As a BACP registered counsellor, I work at your pace, without judgement. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you understand yourself more deeply and find your own way forward.

Areas I can support you with

Anxiety & worry

Persistent anxious thoughts, panic, social anxiety, or a general sense of dread that is hard to shake.

Low mood & depression

Feeling flat, hopeless, unmotivated, or disconnected from the things and people you used to enjoy.

Stress & burnout

Overwhelm from work, caring responsibilities, or life pressures that have built up over time.

Relationship difficulties

Challenges in romantic relationships, friendships, family dynamics, or difficulties with communication and boundaries.

Life transitions

Navigating change — a new job, a move, a break-up, bereavement, retirement, or any shift that has left you feeling unsettled.

Self-esteem & identity

Struggling with how you see yourself, feelings of inadequacy, or questions about who you are and what you want from life.

My approach

I work from a person-centred foundation, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. I don't follow a rigid script or push a particular agenda — instead, I follow your lead, helping you explore what matters most to you.

Sessions are 50 minutes, held online via Zoom. We can work short-term (typically 6–8 sessions) or longer-term, depending on what feels right for you. There is no pressure to commit to a set number of sessions upfront.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a specific problem to start therapy?
Not at all. Many clients come to therapy with a general sense that something isn't right, or simply wanting to understand themselves better. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to benefit from counselling.
How is general therapy different from your specialist services?
My specialist services focus on specific areas — LGBTQ+ identity, fertility, baby loss, and fostering — where dedicated training and lived experience make a particular difference. General therapy is open to anyone dealing with any concern, without a specific focus area.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person. Some clients benefit from a short course of 6–8 sessions; others prefer longer-term work. We'll review progress together and you're never locked in to a set number.
What does a first session look like?
Before we begin, we'll have a free 15–20 minute consultation call to make sure we're a good fit. In the first session, we'll talk about what's brought you to therapy and what you'd like to get from it. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with.
