Counselling for Fostering & Care Experience
Therapy for foster carers, adoptive parents, care leavers, and adults who grew up in the care system — from someone who truly understands.
Lived experience, not just clinical knowledge
The fostering and care system touches people in many different ways — as children who grew up in care, as adults looking back on that experience, as foster carers navigating a complex and often emotionally demanding role, and as adoptive parents building new family relationships.
I bring genuine lived experience to this work. I am a care leaver myself, and the mother of a child who was first fostered and then adopted. I have navigated the fostering system from multiple perspectives — as a young person in care, and as a parent within it. That experience shapes the depth of understanding I bring to every session.
Whether you are a care leaver processing your childhood, a foster carer dealing with the emotional demands of the role, or an adoptive parent navigating attachment and identity — I offer a space where you are truly understood.
I can support you with

- Emotional support for foster carers

Questions about fostering & care counselling
- Do you work with young people in care?
- Yes. I work with children and young people aged 5–18 as well as adults. For clients under 16, appropriate consent arrangements will be discussed.
- I'm a foster carer — can I access counselling for myself?
- Absolutely. Foster carers often carry a significant emotional load and rarely have dedicated support for themselves. You deserve that space too.
- I grew up in care but it was a long time ago. Is it too late to seek help?
- Not at all. Many adults find that childhood experiences in care continue to affect them well into adulthood. It is never too late to seek support.
